Faith in Action! – Be the Church Sunday, September 11, 2011    

     Join us as we cancel worship this Sunday morning and venture out of our sanctuary into the community for three mission projects:

•           •Painting at Twin Oaks Elementary School
•           •Leading a worship service at Regency Place Nursing/Rehab Center
•           •Preparing plastic grocery bags to become mats for the homeless

     We will begin our day at 9:00 AM with coffee and prayer before beginning the projects, and meet together afterward for lunch. Call 225-275-7393 for more information and/or to sign up!

We want to create a slide show sharing memories of Faith, as well as the Covenant and Sherwood congregations that merged to form Faith. The Deacons have arranged with Chili’s Restaurant for Faith Presbyterian Give Back Day on Sunday, August 7, from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM at Chili’s located at 1615 Millerville Road. Dine at Chili’s on August 7 and present this flyer, and Chili’s will donate 10% of the price of your meal to Faith. The funds raised will be donated to Twin Oaks Elementary School.

 Jack, Danah, Emma and Andrew are embarking on a new adventure!

They will be moving to Fairfax, Virginia in July, and we want to celebrate their participation in and contributions to our congregation. We do not teach your children to read, but we will help keep them reading and encourage them to fulfill their summer reading list assignment from their school. We make reading fun!

We also know that parents sometimes need a break once in a while. We can give you that break during the two hour period we spend with your children.

ReNew: It’s the Green VBS!

Join everyone at ReNew, the Green VBS for a week of planting and growing, connecting with God, and caring for creation together. There is a place for you at ReNew!

WHAT: VBS 2011: ReNew, the Green VBS
WHERE: Faith Presbyterian Church
WHEN: June 6th – June 10th
TIMES: 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
FOR: Kids in Preschool – 5th Grade

This year, our program will encourage kids to “Grow in Faith, Have Fun, and Change the World”, while studying Jesus’ Parable of the Sower (Mark 4:1-9), and learning ways to care for God’s creation.

There will be lots of green activities, from planting seeds and growing a “pizza garden” of tomato, basil, onion, bell pepper, and oregano, to learning about ways they can help care for the environment at home, in the community, and around the world.

Our third annual Meet Your Neighbor Day is Saturday, April 16, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Join the family of Faith Presbyterian Church and our neighbors near 12855 Old Hammond Highway as we share a FREE Jambalaya lunch, and talk about our needs and wants for our community.  Bring the kids for an Easter Egg Hunt and Spacewalk, meet and greet city officials, and get in the drawings for Door Prizes.  Above all, let our community of Faith know how we can bless YOU!
